Welcome Back, Cosmic Wanderers!

you know how you once said “honestly, I could teach a workshop on that”?
we heard you. we wrote it down. it's happening.

BARNIVÀLE returns! This year the veil parts to reveal... THE SKILL SHARE WEEKEND. Four days at Elkenmist in Skamokawa, WA, where every camper arrives a student and leaves a professor of something deeply questionable.

Barnivàle is a real event that really happened in 2025, and we're doing it again.

you can believe us because we took photos

The Flyer Wall

this year's workshops, as posted to the barn door

🎟 0 tabs torn by you. tearing a tab does almost nothing. tear one anyway.

SHARP!NEW!!

Needle Felting & Piercings

Stab wool until it becomes cute. Then, if the spirit moves you, get a little stabbed yourself. One needle, two destinies.

Block Printing & Geometric Tessellation

Carve. Ink. Stamp. Repeat until the plane is fully tiled and your soul is at rest. The pattern was inside you all along.

BITE-SIZE

Talklette

We talk about folk lore stuff. It's a talk, but small. A talklette. Bring an open mind and a snack-sized attention span.

Collecting Folk Stories

Bring one story your grandma swears is true. Leave with twelve more, at least three of which are legally dubious.

TO DYE FOR

Leaf Pigment Thingamajigger

We simmer leaves in a bubbling dye pot until they confess their colors onto cloth. The technical term is thingamajigger. Bring something to dye for.

B2B2BARN

Let's Do Some Business

Mamacita Business Consulting presents

Synergy, but make it barn. Bring your worst idea and leave with an LLC (emotionally).

HOT

Friction Fire

Rub sticks together. Make fire. Feel feral. Ten thousand years of technology compressed into one extremely sweaty hour.

OFFERING

Cooking a Whole Lamp (Offering)

Yes, lamp. No further questions will be taken at this time. A slow-fired offering, shared with everyone on the hillside.

RUNNEW!!

Hillside Human Huntin'

archery capture the flag

The arrows are soft. The betrayals are not. Two teams, one hillside, and the oldest game there is: runnin' from your friends.

RECURSIVE

Let's Make That a Workshop

the meta workshop

Bring a thing you said once at a party. We will workshop it into a workshop. Workshops all the way down. Workshop.

WHEEE

Zipline

It is a zipline. You get on it at the top. Gravity teaches the workshop. Historically our most rigorous instructor.

BIG GROUPNEW!!

The Current of Connection

the power of Denzolo between us all

BIG GROUP ACTIVITY. Denzolo flows through us all. Join hands, complete the circuit — nobody conducts alone. Results may vary. Denzolo remains undefined.

FRESH SQUOZE

Making Apple Cider

Crush apples with your friends and drink the consequences. The press does the work; you provide the folklore.

ESOTERICNEW!!

Kant's Third Critique Lecture

EXTREMELY ESOTERIC. The sublime, the beautiful, and the barn, considered at length. No prerequisites, no mercy, no notes.

ACTUAL BEAUTY

One or More Harpists

One or more harpists play the harp. You listen. Some things on this board are exactly what they say they are. This is one.

YOUR WORKSHOP HERE. scribble a title, nail it to the board, and the management shall promote your offering.

schedule subject to weather, whimsy, and Denzolo

The School of Barn Raising

Come for the check-ins, and stay for the chickens. These are skills for showing up for each other — pooling ideas, pooling labor, pooling snacks. Practice community building, confidence, and capture-the-flag with peers who understand that no one builds a barn alone.

Featured Activities:

  • Group "barn raising" project
  • Check-ins with the chickens (yes, actually)
  • Let's Make That a Workshop — the meta workshop
  • The Current of Connection: Denzolo flows between us all (BIG GROUP)

The School of Dirt, Fire & Snacks

Hands-on ancestral skills for the modern barn enjoyer. Rub sticks, crush apples, simmer leaves, stab wool. Everything in this school either makes fire, makes food, or makes a mess — and all three count as a diploma.

Featured Activities:

  • Friction Fire (rub sticks, feel feral)
  • Making Apple Cider — crush apples, drink consequences
  • Leaf Pigment Thingamajigger (bring something to dye for)
  • Cooking a Whole Lamp — an offering, yes lamp
  • Needle Felting & Piercings
  • Block Printing & Geometric Tessellation

The School of Unknowable Things

For skills that cannot be demonstrated, only experienced. Lectures with no prerequisites and no mercy, stories with no verifiable sources, and one harp with no notes wasted. Bring a journal. Leave with questions.

Featured Activities:

  • Kant's Third Critique Lecture (extremely esoteric)
  • Talklette — talk about folk lore stuff, but small
  • Collecting Folk Stories
  • One or More Harpists (you just listen. it's beautiful.)
  • Zipline — a brief but persuasive lecture by gravity

Join the Skill Share!

Tickets are limited to preserve the intimate magic of our micro-festival (and the structural tolerance of the barn).

Early Bird Tickets Available Until July 31st!

got a skill? half a skill? a grudge that could become a skill? bring it. we'll make that a workshop.
